2012 state of the studio address.

Happy 2012! Here’s an update of some things that we’ve been up to since the last post.

We’ve jumped on the bandwagon and got a SoundCloud account. It’s a nice platform for easy embedding and sharing of tracks. We’ve got some rare recordings in the vault that just might see a release there so keep an eye out.

We recorded a rare live acoustic performance by The Auditor General and released it as a Christmas treat. Check it out: “Holiday Heist, Vol. 1: Christmas Crimes”.

Unfortunately, Twins of Leda broke up and their record has been shelved indefinitely. One song from the session titled “A Neckful” was completed and will eventually see a release.

We finished mixing our good friend Drew Ezack’s debut solo EP “How to Dabble” which he is currently planning a release for.

Finally, the finishing touches are being put on The Dweezils‘ sophmore LP “Take 2″, which will see a release on April 20th, 2012. Download their Exit Music produced, debut LP “Welcome to Dweezland” for a taste of what’s to come.

Treeburning release new EP.

Treeburning released their latest EP “This Is What Happens When Nothing Else Can” over the weekend. The record was mixed and mastered here at Exit Music Studio. The band is currently on tour in Western Canada to support it’s release. Check them out and have a listen to another fantastic Exit Music recording!

Norris releases The Great White North.

Yesterday, Norris released their first full-length record “The Great White North” on Year Of The Sun Records. The album was recorded and mixed at Exit Music Studio in 2010, and mastered by Jamie King at The Basement Recording NC.

The Dweezils begin work on Take 2.

Exit Music Studio is happy to say that production for The Dweezils’ sophomore album “Take 2″ began last week.

The album is the follow-up to 2010′s “Welcome To Dweezland” and is being recorded at the luxurious Disgraceland palace.

Twins Of Leda begin work on full-length.

Exit Music Studio is pleased to announce that production of Twins Of Leda’s upcoming full-length “Roses are red, violets are blue, I got a knife, get in the van!” began over the weekend.

Additionally, mixing has begun on Norris’ upcoming full-length, which will be released sometime this fall on Year Of The Sun Records

Exit Music Studio is pleased to announce that work on Norris’ first full length recording is underway. The not yet titled album is being recorded at The Middaugh House in Thunder Bay, ON. The album’s anticipated release date is in the fall of 2010. Visit their MySpace page to keep up to date.

Hello all! This is the first update in almost a year but just because our Web presence has been lacking it doesn’t mean that we haven’t been busy. First off, a new site layout built using a WordPress template then altered to our liking. Subscribe to the RSS feed (if you’re into that sort of thing) to keep updated on what’s happening with us.

In other news, we are proud to announce the completion of 2010′s first project for Exit Music. The Dweezils: “Welcome To Dweezland” was recorded at Broke Toker Studio with the help Andy Middaugh in the summer and fall of 2009, and was mixed and mastered here at Exit Music over the past few months. They are such nice guys that they decided you can download the album for free!.

2010 promises to be a great year for Exit Music with a couple of new projects shaping up. More information will be released when the time is right. Until then, check out the downloads page for some free musical treats.
